Ángel J. Correa Barrera
With a degree in architecture from the University of Seville’s School of Architecture in 2001, he combined his studies while working for the family construction company (r. y Construcciones Correa, S.L.), making him the sixth generation working at the family business. He began his career as a freelancer in 2003, having worked, during his studies, with the studios of Dr. Amalio Saldaña, and ARKHE, and continuing to collaborate until 2004. In 2005 he began his doctoral program titled “Theory + Practice of Urban and Architectural Restoration”, earning his ABD status in 2006. Concentrating on his professional career, he developed various projects for both government contracts and private entities, adding a number of completed projects/buildings to his experience. He has also given various talks and has taught several courses in construction for the Chamber of Commerce of Seville. The Europa Nostra Prizes awarded him a “Special Mention” in 2006 in the category of architectural heritage onservation for the restoration project of Los Pozos de la Nieve (Constantina). In 2009, as a result of the professional relationship with technical architect Joaquín Saldaña Ortiz-Repiso, 2_DOS studio is born.
